If you thought 2017 was the year of minimalist living, 2018 will be basically the opposite. The ’80s maximalist trend is back in a big way. We’re seeing more decorative elements and more colors and more mixing of patterns to create a purposefully over-decorated look. So, let’s talk about important ones:

1. The interior color trends.

The big trend is to go more and more towards bright and strong shades. This return to color goes together with a return to the 80-s and its strong design and color:

– Pink everywhere, especially pastel shade of pink deemed “millennial pink“.

– Primary colors come back like the red, the yellow, the blue (the Klein blue).

– Then there are all the warm and earthy tones becoming brighter: from orange to burgundy red.

– Pantone announced the Ultra Violet as Color of the Year 2018! Ultra Violet, or Pantone 18-3838, is a complex, celestial shade of purple, veering toward the cooler end of the color spectrum, that calls to mind the vastness of the galaxy, the power of spirituality and creative expression in all its forms.

– Lots of green as well, but with new interesting shades of sage, celery and avocado greens.

2. Artisan textures

Macramé, fringing, tufting, tassels and feathers. You will see it on cushions, wall hangings, throws, rugs and accessories. This trend will add a wonderful handmade quality to each room, beautiful tactile cushions on the sofa and a sumptuous throw with tassels on the bed, and a wall hanging or two on plain walls to add interest.

3. Ombre.

Meaning ‘to shade’, this season you’re going to see ombre in many different ways, from fabrics to cushions, rugs to bedding and in a painterly watercolor style on lampshades, artwork and furniture. If you do not feel brave enough to try it yourself on walls then source a wallpaper instead. Once you have chosen your colorway, co-ordinate your accessories to complement the wall colors using a mix of plains and prints.

4. Glittery gold.

5. Bright terrazzo

Nature – the interior designer

The main task in creating an interior is the choice of color and color combination. With the help of the color, we can play with space, expanding or reducing its boundaries, making it lighter or darker, warmer or cooler. Depending on how we want to feel in the house. After all, our psychological balance and mood directly depends on the color atmosphere. How to correctly combine colors, so that space does not irritate, but brings joy and happiness? In the 19th century, the French artist Eugene Delacroix developed the theory of halftones and was the first to paint a color triangle, the tops of which help designers to correctly combine colors even this days.

Nevertheless, nature was before Delacroix. If we look more closely at the surrounding world, we will see a harmonious combination of colors everywhere: plants, birds, sunsets and dawns, water, fire, mountains, deserts, forests, fields, animals and insects. For a better understanding, we distinguish three main types of combinations:

Monochrome is a combination of different shades of the same color. Analogue is a combination of close colors in the spectrum. When using this type of interior will be filled with peace and tranquility.

Interior design colors are very important for everybody. We understand this part when we try to choose colors for our home. Firstly, we may think it is easy, we choose colors that we love and which we would like to have. Despite this, the result may not be like expectation.

In this article, we would like to explain to you the psychological effects of one color or another and what fits better in order to obtain desired result.

You have to remember 3 important tips when choosing your color:

You have to think how much time you will spend in the room and what time of the day, what activates will take place in this room.
You have to see the size of the room. If it is a small place, you need to use brighter colors. They give the filling of larger space and the darker or warm color makes the room smaller.
You have to keep in mind the place of the room toward the sun.

White color

White is the purest color. It is associated with space and serenity. White can energize and improve physical health. It helps to stimulate the work of the organs of sight. However, his reverse side is angry and fast fatigue.

White color will make the room weightless and visually expand the space. It is best to use it where there is not enough light. It will create a feeling of incredible lightness and light.

Gray color

Blue color

The blue color is fresh and relaxing. It embodies calmness, lightness and depth. Blue releases from negative thoughts, suppresses aggression, relieves fatigue, and improves concentration and attention. However, the excess of blue color can plunge into sadness and have a negative impact on the human psyche.

Blue has the ability to visually increase the space in depth and height, so it is recommended for small rooms.

Green color

The kitchen of dream or how to make the right choice.

Today we will talk about the kitchen – the heart of every home. It is a magic place where we prepare a variety of dishes, where all family gathers at the large table and share with each other news of the day. Therefore, the kitchen must be functional, ergonomic and comfortable.

In this article, we will help you to understand, what types of kitchen can be and what type of them is the best for you.

Types of kitchen:

Important to remember! The working triangle rule must be observed!

1.LINEAR KITCHEN.

All the kitchen furniture is located in one line along the wall. This option is perfect for small rooms. It is functional and saves space.

2. Parallel kitchen.

This type includes two opposite walls and it is characteristic for the through passage kitchens. In this case, it is more convenient to place the sink and the stove on one side, and the refrigerator on the other. Due to this, the working triangle is preserved. The distance between the sides must be not less than 1 meter for comfortable movement.

3. L- Shaped Kitchen.

This type of kitchen is universal. It is suitable for small square rooms and for fairly spacious. As a rule, the stove and the sink are located close to each other. However, it is desirable to leave a working surface between them not less than 60 cm. In addition, this layout allows to place kitchen’s objects with maximum comfort.

4. U-Shaped kitchen.

This type of plan is suitable for rooms from 10 to 20 m2. Furniture is installed along three walls, each of which has one element of the working triangle. The free space between sides can be from 1200 mm to 2800 mm. Otherwise, this layout will not be functional and comfortable.

5. Peninsular kitchen.

This type of kitchen allows us to functionally share space, separating the working area of the kitchen from the dining room or living room. It is most often used for open planning. This is a multifunctional solution. The peninsula makes possible to increase the number of storage systems, efficient use the space to house appliances, also can be a bar counter or table. Therefore, it allows us to save a lot of space.

6. Island kitchen.

It is a combination of an L-Shaped or U-Shaped kitchen with an island in the center. This type of layout is suitable only for large spaces. The island is a multifunctional part of the kitchen and gives the room a special atmosphere of a single space.
